I'll be the first to tell anyone I HATE CHORES!!!! Wasn't the fondest of them as a kid and still don't like them now. Don't get me wrong my house is messy and some might even say a tad 'dirty' but my home is bug free. I don't leave garbage til it piles up to the ceiling, I try to pick up spills right away and I don't leave dishes all over the house for weeks on end and I try to avoid eating in any other room but my kitchen/dining area.
I'm still working with Eric on his potty training and such. Unfortunately he's a hard sleeper and sleeps right through the night with no wake ups. This also means he's a bed wetter. He also fights with distractions during the day when he's got to use the bathroom. This morning the fact that I had to wash his bed sheets prompted me to wash FIVE that's right (5) loads of laundry. I'm getting in to the home making mode because I'll have to keep busy and keep costs down while Josh is in school full time. Tomorrow's game plan is to wash our bed sheets and comforters as well as Eric's again because unfortunately I went to check on him and he was already soaked. I figure he'll wake himself when he feels it. This kid sleeps so hard he doesn't even move around when he's sleeping. At any rate his sheets will be going in to the washer tomorrow morning as well. On top of the five loads I did today I also did a load of dishes and cleared and cleaned off my kitchen table which happens to be the catch all and my primary work station for just about all things. My kitchen table is where it all happens, mail piles up, school books pile up, purse, keys, some times Josh's clothes, Eric's clothes, Eric's toys, who says we need to eat meals around the kitchen table? I really need to start making more of an effort to do things around here more efficiantly. What is it they say about the road to hell being paved with good intentions? I've always got the intentions to get my crap together and get organized and have better time management but I never seem to be able to do that for very long. I'm also a procrastinator when it comes to school work as well. So trying to do the full time mom thing and full time student thing is going to be a tad crazy. The only way Josh and I will be able to keep ourselves above water is if I go full time and apply for the Post 9-11 GI Bill so I can collect the housing allowance to make sure the bills here are all paid and I still have money for groceries and occassional things for Eric. Poor kid life is gonna suck for him if I'm ripping my hair out trying to get school stuff done.
So here's to hoping I can pull it all off.
