Saying good-bye to 2011

Another year comes to and end and here we are with so much going on.  In the last couple of years I've had hernia repair surgery and gall bladder removal and we've avoided having another child not knowing what this would do to my body not to mention how it would affect fetal development.  After talking to one of the general surgeons about my case and what kind of issues can come from getting pregnant and carrying to term.  So  Josh and I are trying to have another baby.  This year Josh retired from the Navy and is currently attending law school.  The rough part of this year was losing the person I considered to be my maternal grandmother and miscarrying a child.  The coming year brings with it a breath of better things to come.  Josh and I will be trying for another child.  Eric thankfully is growing big and healthy, since speech therapy his vocabulary has amplified greatly.  I'm still struggling with staying focused on school and such but I'm hanging in there as much as possible.  Josh will be returning back to school in a few days and getting in to the second semester of his first year.  He's stressing grades and the grading system and I think he's kind of selling himself short.  From here on out we only look forward!  We seem to be doing well working with what we have.  We truly are blessed.

Not how I envisioned my Christmas Holiday...

Santa has made his stop by the inlaws to drop gifts for Eric, so that is taken care of.  The part that I'm really having a rough time with is the fact that Josh has done nothing but video game all damn day.  I can't say anything because of course I'm a guest.  Kills me that all his dad wants to do is either play/watch golf or watch my husband play the fucking Wii!!!  I'm about ready to rip all that shit out of the wall.  All I can say is next year I'm not leaving my house for anyone.  I'm also not giving up my TV for anyone either.  If they want to be at my house they go by my rules.  This is crap that I'm essentially confined to my damn computer or a book because I'm not interested in watching my husband play a fucking video game that he can do any other time of the year.  I'm ready to go back home and ready for my husband to be back at school.  Hopefully mom will be moved out of Odie's by next year some time and I can put money aside to visit them for a while at Christmas instead of being here.  If this is what I have to look forward to then I'd rather go home to my family where there is actually shit for me to do other then spend most of the day sleeping or listening to video games in the back ground instead of Christmas music or movies.  I'm hoping things will be better tomorrow but I doubt it.  Every thing is closed tomorrow and after we open gifts of course the lazy asses won't want to do anything other then get on the fucking video game again.  Just not looking forward to that.

Chillin with the inlaws....

Every so often I hear horror stories of families that just can't seem to get along.  I'm not talking about the internal family stuff, that crap happens to everyone and most of the time the issues are forgotten about or just gotten over and for the post part the family starts talking to each other again.  My sister and I are a prime example, she and I fight like hell and have totally different points of view on just about every thing in life.  What I'm talking about is the inlaw situation when the inlaws absolutely make every effort to keep the spouse at a distance or cause a lot of tension between the married couple.  I guess hubby and I are blessed in that his parents and siblings like me and my family likes him.  We each talk to our parents about internal issues because even though we are adults we look for love, support, guidance from our parents.  Thankfully each set of parents gives us a place to vent without telling us what they think we should be doing and with out making every attempt to make bad or rough issues between us even worse.  We are truly blessed that our son gets to see at least one set of his grandparents on a rather regular basis and he also has one great-grandma and one great-grandpa still living.  I'm thankful that both these grand parents have a fairly clean bill of health and do the best they can to take care of themselves.
I bring all this up because currently hubby and I are at his dad and stepmom's and they treat me like I belong which is wonderful.  They've never made me feel awkward or out of place.  Now do we each have traits and such that make the other crazy?  Sure we do.  But I often tell people if you can't accept me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best.  I truly am thankful for my family both near and far not just today but every day.  I look back on the life I have and the life that could have been and I must say, taking the road I was meant to take is looking really darn good from where I'm standing.  Letting go and letting God seems to be making a huge difference in my life.  With so much that I've been through and all the people that have come into and gone from my life I have to say that God put me with the right people at the right time.

Boo Hoo and bitching about duty days....

Seriously how is it you are going to fucking bitch and piss and moan about the fact that your husband has to work an over night duty?  How are you going to bitch about him being gone on deployment?  Why don't you shut the fuck up and be greatful that your husband is working a FULL TIME JOB WITH BENEFITS?  Your stupid ass isn't having to pay medical bills out of pocket.  When your husband is in off crew he's often home at a decent time and you have weekends to hang out and do shit together.  Think about the other alternatives, he could be working a minimum wage job with no benefits and long hours.  He could be unemployed all together.  He could be a cop or EMT working crazy ass shifts and constantly on night shifts where he's sleeping most of the day and gone all night and doesn't get to do much with the kids.  He could have a job where he's working double shifts constantly and you never see him.  You KNEW when you got involved with him that he was working for the US Military and that he didn't have a normal 9-5, home on weekends type of job so if you knew and felt you were going to have such an issue with it WHY THE HELL DID YOU MARRY THE GUY?  Seriously take your pissy, whiney asses out and get a job and a life and find things to do with other people on the nights your husband is on duty.  Get a book club or a card group together and have a game night, get a knitting or crocheting group together or something and spend a few hours with friends before and after the kids go to bed to keep yourself occupied.  OK end of rant!

Wishing you a happy birthday...

Wow, it's hard to believe it's been 15+ years since you've been gone and just how much has happen in all of that time.  I think of you often and wish you were still here to see your great grandchildren and the lives your son and grandchildren have made for themselves.  Every time I feel the need for a little latin spice in my life you come to mind and I wish we had shared more dances together.  Funny all the stuff Melissa and Vinny went through after their father died and they both seem to be getting their lives back on track.  Lis is a Ms. Fix It like her daddy and Vinny is driving truck for a living just like mine.  It's funny how influenced we all were by our fathers.  I hope Uncle Nestor and Aunt Mildred are doing well with you.  As for dad he's hanging in there.  I thought a few times over the last several years he'd be joining you.  Thanks to Grandma's love and care he's still kicking.  Yeah dad and grandma share living space with a huge black beast of a cat named Shadow.  Mom and Odie are also sharing living space, that's an interesting and often frustrating living arrangement.  Odie has three boys, the youngest was recently diagnosed with a mood disorder that he's had since birth.  Josh and I we're hanging in there.  At the moment he's home with me from school til after the new year and then back to the grind.
HAPPY 90th BIRTHDAY!

Santa and I are shacking up again...

So the school here is quite involved in the community and they take time to help out the under privileged.  Not sure if the school adopts a shelter or what ever the case is, but Josh will be dressing up for a function tomorrow morning and I've had to help him make some adjustments to the suit and the padding.  This should be an interesting get together.  I'll have to be sure to get some good pictures to post.
Tonight we went out with another couple to a Japanese sushi restaurant and I ate sooooooo freaking much I'm STUFFED!  Earlier in the day we did an expeditionary visit of Toys R Us to figure out what kind of stuff we were getting for the kiddo for Christmas.  I knew the stuff I wanted to get him I wasn't going to find very easily at Walmart.  He's gotten heavy in to sword fighting and is using a mega lego as a shield and a noise making boom stick as a sword.  Thank God for the inventors/creators of Nerf.  We were able to find sword, shield and a Thor's Hammer that are all foam!  Score and we are getting him a large tool bench set and a bean bag chair something that is washable.  Why the sword fighting, because he's been watching How to Train your Dragon, Zelda for the Wii, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and other programs or games that have him interested in swords very much like his father was at an early age.  His grandfather also go him in to playing Wii Golf and for Christmas got our lil guy a set of kids golf clubs, YES, REAL golf clubs.  Those get to stay at Grandpa and Nana's house and he can only use them when he goes to play golf with his Grandpa.

Yes we are...

going to be trying to have another baby.  I have some things I need to get taken care of health wise then we'll be good to go.  I'm just thinking about the insanity of having a newborn in the house again.  I'm excited and terrified at the same time.  The environment and home are different this time, the common area flooring is tile and not carpet.  For sure I'll be hunting down a rather large area rug for the livingroom.  Right now I'm holding off on telling family any thing about the possibility of having another baby.  After having hernia repair I had some concerns about the mesh holding up and the possibility of developing another hernia and what kind of complications that might cause during pregnancy.
I've also got things going on with me being in school again, Josh coming home in a couple of days til after the new year should be an interesting dynamic again.  I've also been staying up later at night in order to avoid the need for prescription sleeping pills.  I'm just a hot mess at the moment.  My house is upside down and of course Eric is a major contributor to the chaos.  I guess I should be counting my blessings that my son is healthy enough to be creating such insanity in my life.  In the mean time round and round we go.  Crazy trips back and forth to the school and then to the inlaws then home then back down to the inlaws then home.  Ha all the work we have to do while we're here.  A good laugh, some of the tomato plants survived the jungle effects of the grass and there is acutally stuff growing.  Go figure.  I think the lower temps outside killed our alvocado plant/tree before it had time to adapt to being outside.

That time of year again....

Dear Liza,

Where do I even begin, it's hard to believe that it's been almost 3 decades since your passing.  Next to my cousins you were one of my very first friends.  I think of you often but most especially this time of year.  Some times the time that I spent with you just before your passing seems like it was just a dream.  I recall snippets and clips in my dreams of you asking my mom if she had cut all her hair off because she had it pulled back in a ponytail, me sitting beside you reading to you as you lay on the sofa.  I often wonder if we would have stayed friends all this time if God hadn't taken you so soon.  I wonder what you would say about all the directions my life has taken.  How much would we have shared?  Would we have found a way to stay in constant communication or would we have lost touch?  So much I think about, wondering where your life would have gone.  To this day I still can never express what your friendship and kindness meant to me through the rough spots in my childhood.

Your friend forever,
Cyn

Thankfully our bills are clear....

but wow did the money go fast.  $1500 toward Josh's credit card, $405 toward property loan for FL land, almost $800 for our mortgage on this house and Josh got paid between his retirement and his BAH for school about $3000, so of the $3000, $2700 went to bills.  Now I'm suppose to stretch that other $300 til next payday.  I might need to borrow on the card again just to make sure Josh has spending money for the next few weeks.  Looks like no real Christmas for Eric this year.  Also looks like I won't be moving down with Josh while he goes to school.  I'm hoping that he's able to take some kind of internship down near the school instead of having to come back up here and work/look for work.  He's going to need the experience for when he's done with school and if we are seriously going to build down in FL then his best bet would be to, stay in that area and work, and build up a good network of contacts down there for when he's done with school.  Ha much as Josh hates to play the politics game looks like he's going to have to get it together and learn to play the game to get anywhere.  This will also reflect on him down the line.  My other issue is a couple of his 'friends'.  One in particular that needs to get his head out of his behind.  He's got manners and behaviors that are atrocious and at some point I have a feeling they are going to get him locked up.  He's going to have himself in a situation where he will not be allowed to take the bar exam and there goes all that time wasted in school when all he wants to do is party.  He's got relationship issues on top of it all.  Just don't understand all that BS.  Was nice to visit with Josh and hang out for the week but I'm sooooooooooooooo glad to be back home.  I've got too much of my own stuff going on to give a good rats ass about anyone else.
On another note, Josh's roommate really is a sweet guy and he got a really crappy deal with the neighbor next door.  He gave his all and she wasn't even remotely interested.  I'm so sorry for him.  I really wanted to give him a hug but wasn't sure how he'd take it.  I just hope he can keep an open mind and that he realizes the girl for him is out there and that she may not be the most pristine person on the planet.  He may meet the girl who he can keep from going in to a clinic to have an abortion, and she may realize that he is the right guy for her, the one she's been looking for in all the wrong places.

WTF is wrong with some people???

I know of someone, who is coming in to quite a bit of money soon. Funny how she talks about family in all the wrong ways. While her child was living at home she did nothing but complain about how they did nothing to help how they were slacking in school and their grades were not up to par. When they decided they wanted to go out of state to college she wasn't happy with him going out there. She griped and complained about how they needed to grow up but she never did things to allow him to grow up. She always seems to be bailing them out of something. She gets all sanctimonious about how they need to be doing this and doing that. Turns out they left home not necessarily to attend college but for other reasons. They left so they wouldn't have to deal with the parents.

Thanks to a friend

Earlier today I was reading a friend's blog about her situation with her ex and the kids and I found myself thankful for where I am in life.  Josh and I met in July 1999 and have been together since.  Some times it's hard to believe it's been 12 years.  I should be thankful Josh likes his women a little on the crazy side.  We dated on again off again for 4 years before both taking orders that eventually took us both to Guam.  December 2002 six months after I arrive on Guam Josh and the crew of the USS San Francisco arrive on island.  Josh and I got married March 10, 2003 and its been one heck of a roller coaster ride ever since.  God knows our relationship  isn't perfect and we have had our fair share of blow ups and threats of separation and divorce and disagreements about how to parent our child.  Josh and I each have our own ideas about what it means to be a parent.  I am more interactive with Eric on a regular basis and Josh kind of keeps his distance because he feels as a parent he can't be both friend/playmate and disciplinarian.  I can see and understand the logic in that but at the same time I don't want Eric to be so afraid of his father that he can't approach him and talk to him about things.  He should be looking up to his father and wanting to be like his father and not be afraid of his father.  Maybe he should be concerned that his father will be disappointed in his choices and actions but not afraid that his father will hurt him or hate him.
When I met Josh he was a hard drinking, hard living sailor who thought no harm no foul as long as he didn't do harm to anyone else.  I stood by him even though I didn't quite agree with how he was living.  He has recently had to make some choices to change the way he was living because it did have an effect on others around him.  His faith and his belief in God has strengthened and he's made changes to better himself and by extension to better the life of his family.  We've had some rough patches in all the time we've been together but they are smooth by comparison to others.  I guess some would say we've lived a charmed life.  We've been lucky enough to have a solid life.  We've worked hard.  I'm able to stay home and care for my son full time because of decent money management.  We have three vehicles fully paid for and in decent condition.
Currently Josh is attending law school out of state full time and we can afford it because of a scholarship and his GI Bill benefits.  I'm still able to stay home with Eric instead of having to go out and work full time just to make ends meet.  His retirement pay covers two mortgages, car insurance, and other bills and still leaves funds for me to grocery shop when needed.  The payment he gets for housing allowance from his GI Bill goes directly to pay his credit card.  We are working with much less then he was making when he was on active duty but I'm doing well with making it work to our benefit.
I have so very much to be thankful for.  We are truly blessed to be where we are in life.  I know there are people who are better off and worse off then we are.  The reason our situation is stable is because we are both very cautious about how we approach things and we put our faith in God.  If He brings us to it He will bring us through it.

Spending time with the love of my life

On Friday last week I drove down to Naples FL to spend time with my love while he enjoyed a long weekend.  I left here around 9 AM and got down to him by about half past 4.  We ended up doing dinner at IHOP instead of out with his henchmen on Friday night.  IHOP turned into an experience.  We got there and they were so understaffed that the wait staff was bussing tables and doing dishes and no manager was on premisis, so it took Josh getting up and letting someone know we were at the table before we got service.  Poor waitress was so stressed out and felt so bad that we were waiting.  Took a while to get our meals as well because the kitchen was under staffed.  It was nuts, any way we both finally got our meals after waiting over an hour in an almost empty restaurant and what happens?  Lightening strikes a transformer and knocks out the power so I get to eat dinner in the dark.  On the upside dinner was free that night!
Saturday we got together with one of Josh's buddies and his fiance for a trip to the beach.  What a great location it was, nice calm area for Eric to swim and splash around.  They also have it set up as a dog park and Eric enjoyed playing with the four legged fur balls!  That evening was group dinner out.  Incredible lobster at a pound and a half for $20 couldn't beat it.
Sunday we kind of got ditched so Josh and I went to the flea market in the area and walked around for a bit.  We went into an upscale dress shop because Josh saw a dress he thought would compliment me both in color and fit.  I don't think he realized the caleber of the dress shop when he had me try the dress on.  Apparently he really liked the way the dress looked on me and the way I looked in the dress because he had no hesitation about buying the dress even after he found out it was almost $200.  He gets out his credit card to make the purchase and the sales lady is a total flake, isn't sure how to install a fresh roll of paper in the credit card machine, so Josh helps her and has the paper inserted the wrong way so when she goes to run his card and print out the reciept it doesn't print out on the paper.  Turns out the ink only shows up on the one side of the paper.  Of course she's not fluent in how to use the machine so after they get the paper turned around and test to make sure it's printing she doesn't know how to pull up the transaction we made for the dress and confirm that the transaction went through and was pending payment.  So we paid for a dress and walked out of the shop without the dress (situation resolved).   Asked Preston if he'd be willing to keep an eye/ear on Eric while he slept so we could go out for a date night.  While we were out we ran into one of the couples at one of the clubs and had a great time.  Was nice to be out and about town with my sexy husband.
Monday was a hang at the dorm kind of day.  Hang out at the dorm for a while and get a call to head over to the apartment complex of one of Josh's buddies cause they have a community pool and we can all hang out. We get there, only there about half an hour and the other two couples totally bail on us and tell us to call them then they don't answer phones or their front door. We head back to the dorm have dinner with Josh's roommate Preston and just hang out.
Tuesday I have a chance to hit the school bookstore and buy a shirt for myself and a shirt for my mom before Josh heads to class.  Thankfully he only had morning classes and we were able to spend the afternoon together hanging out and I was able to go to one of the local nail salons and get my nails done.  The person who worked on my nails tore my fingers up and didn't clean up the areas where I had lifting.  Just pissed me off didn't give him much of a tip and it cost me $25 to get the work done where as here at home for a fill and repair it would have cost me $20 and the job would have been done correctly.  Snuck in some ColdStone Creamery while I was down there as well.  Josh is located in a great area, right up the road from him is Walgreens, Publix, Blockbuster, chinese food, italian food, Subway, Starbucks, a dentist office, and a decent size hospital.  What I need to check on in the area is a public park/play area for Eric.
Life is truly good and God has truly blessed us that we are able to be in two separate living spaces and make all our bills and not have to worry about being so excessively in debit that we will be paying off loans for the next 30 or 40 years.

Well looks like I'll be taking a break!

So I was on academic probation the last couple of terms because I've taken two classes twice each so far because I've failed them.  Partially because of depression, physical illness/surgeries, and laziness.  So the school set me up to retake one of the classes for a third time and I had been in class, had started posting to the class then they totally dropped me out of school all together this term.  I'll have to talk to academic advising and see what they say about re-instating me in school.  If they say no then I'll deal with it.  Unfortunately life got in my way.  I was hoping to start off strong and I totally screwed myself.  My GPA must look like absolute hell.  Each time I take a class even if its the same one it counts toward my over all GPA.  If I was smart I would have taken a break after that Psychology class where my final grade was a D+ and just regrouped myself.  Before that I had 3 As and 4 Bs and was doing OK.  Just kills me that so much happened over those 4 terms.  Sad part is that's all over this least year cause each term is 10 weeks I have failed the last 4 terms now and who knows what's next.  Guess I'll write more about my own academic issues when I know more.

In the mean time, Josh will be starting up down in Naples by Tuesday.  We are currently at his dad's and we've got the stuff in the dorm room for him to take care of when he gets down there.  Let me tell you that drive totally sucked balls.  I sure as hell would NOT want to do that again any time soon.  Don't know how often I'll be coming down for a visit based on how much work he'll be doing and how busy he'll be.  He's got a pretty decent set up.  His room has an en-suite bathroom with a stand up shower and a full size tub, large sink, with lots of counter space and toilet.  He also has a door from his room to the third floor balcony.  He has not one but TWO closets and one of them is a walk in closet with more then enough room to put his clothes and a dresser if he'd like to have one.  The other closet in the room I think was suppose to be a laundry.  I'm guessing the school originally was suppose to be a time share space, maybe, because it's set up almost like a timeshare kind of deal, two bedrooms with common living and kitchen space.  With the full size bed he's got enough room to put his desk in his bedroom.  The livingroom area has enough space for a large kitchen table, a full size sofa with end tables and a few lamps.  His bedroom also has a ceiling fan so he won't roast.  I'll tell you what, when I come down to visit I sure as hell won't be doing the he-man drive straight through deal.  I'll probably stop every hour and a half or so to get a breather and stretch my legs and such on the trip down.  The drive back by myself is totally going to suck.  I'll be taking my time heading back up as well.

Amy Winehouse who????

Seriously WTF is wrong with people? So many people who really have no clue who the hell she is and others are getting bent out of shape because I have no sympathy for the fact that she wasted her life being a junkie. She apparently wasn't that great of a 'soul singer' and didn't have any sense of fashion either and her attitude about fame and fortune apparently didn't help her any. Pisses me off that we actually excuse her behavior by feeling sorry for her because she died at the age of 27 from over dosing! Seriously I have absolutely no sympathy for her and her stupid choices in life. I have a smidge of sympathy for the family she left behind but what I want to know is where were all these people to kick her in the ass and keep her on the straight and narrow. It's amazing how we have sympathy for those who have money, now would these same people have had sympathy for her if she had been high and gotten in to a head on collision with another vehicle on the road that was a family with 4 kids who all died because she was being stupid. I just don't get how we pick and choose who we feel sorry for. People have no empathy or sympathy for Casey Anthony because they believe she killed her child but we have sympathy for someone who chose to destroy her life without looking back. Amazing how people are upset with me because I believe she made her bed and she had to succumb to the choices she made.

Let the rain keep falling...

Not much going on.  Same old same old, Eric is still working on his potty training skills and looks like I'll be changing out bed sheets til he gets the hang of getting up when he has to go or holding it til he wakes in the morning.  I'm not waking him to make him go because I'm afraid he won't get back to sleep.  I figure when he gets tired of wetting the bed he'll stop and learn to get up when he needs to or hold it til he gets up in the morning.  Would be nice to have him fully trained by the time we see Josh for his first school break.  Was talking to a friend of mine earlier about the whole potty training situation and she suggested I cut of liquids an hour and a half before bedtime in order to keep him from having an over-full bladder during the night.
As always school work is going to throw me for a loop.  Time to get my 3rd paper for class hashed out and turned in and I'm just NOT feeling it.  I need to get my act together and keep on trucking cause I'm gonna screw myself if I have to keep retaking classes.  I have so much shit to get done its not even funny.  Josh starts working at his new job Monday evening/night and he'll be sleeping during the day.  I'm hoping I'll be able to get this paper taken care of before it has to be turned in.  Wednesday I have a play date scheduled for 2ish depending on Rian and her schedule.  As of Friday Josh and I are officially civilians!  No more boat bullshit, no more command bullshit, no more military ass kissing. Funny in all my time in the military I have 3 or 4 good friends I talk to on a regular basis. Everyone else?  They can all go eat shit and die.  Life is going to be rough for us for a while but Josh and I will figure it out.  I think that the last few days has been the most couples time Josh and I has spent together in a really long time.  It's been nice and it's going to make things that much harder when he's working nights and then gone for school.  I guess I should be thankful it's not a deployment.
Funny I titled this particular blog let the rain keep falling but didn't talk at all about the weather we've been having here that is very much needed.  We've had some brush/forest fires in close proximity to us and I have to say that the smoke from them has been damaging to a lot of the local area.  The last two or three days we've had some heavy rain fall, I'm sure the firefighters are thankful for the help, they just wish it wasn't accompanied by lightening that gets the cycle started all over again.  My prayer for them is that they can get the blaze under control and that no one has gotten hurt or will get hurt from this entire situation.

All Hail The Non-Domestic Goddess!

I'll be the first to tell anyone I HATE CHORES!!!!  Wasn't the fondest of them as a kid and still don't like them now.  Don't get me wrong my house is messy and some might even say a tad 'dirty' but my home is bug free.  I don't leave garbage til it piles up to the ceiling, I try to pick up spills right away and I don't leave dishes all over the house for weeks on end and I try to avoid eating in any other room but my kitchen/dining area.

I'm still working with Eric on his potty training and such.  Unfortunately he's a hard sleeper and sleeps right through the night with no wake ups.  This also means he's a bed wetter.  He also fights with distractions during the day when he's got to use the bathroom.  This morning the fact that I had to wash his bed sheets prompted me to wash FIVE that's right (5) loads of laundry.  I'm getting in to the home making mode because I'll have to keep busy and keep costs down while Josh is in school full time.  Tomorrow's game plan is to wash our bed sheets and comforters as well as Eric's again because unfortunately I went to check on him and he was already soaked.  I figure he'll wake himself when he feels it.  This kid sleeps so hard he doesn't even move around when he's sleeping.  At any rate his sheets will be going in to the washer tomorrow morning as well.  On top of the five loads I did today I also did a load of dishes and cleared and cleaned off my kitchen table which happens to be the catch all and my primary work station for just about all things.  My kitchen table is where it all happens, mail piles up, school books pile up, purse, keys, some times Josh's clothes, Eric's clothes, Eric's toys, who says we need to eat meals around the kitchen table?  I really need to start making more of an effort to do things around here more efficiantly.  What is it they say about the road to hell being paved with good intentions?  I've always got the intentions to get my crap together and get organized and have better time management but I never seem to be able to do that for very long.  I'm also a procrastinator when it comes to school work as well.  So trying to do the full time mom thing and full time student thing is going to be a tad crazy.  The only way Josh and I will be able to keep ourselves above water is if I go full time and apply for the Post 9-11 GI Bill so I can collect the housing allowance to make sure the bills here are all paid and I still have money for groceries and occassional things for Eric.  Poor kid life is gonna suck for him if I'm ripping my hair out trying to get school stuff done.
So here's to hoping I can pull it all off.

The clouds are clearing and the end of the tunnel is near!

Wow hadn't realized how much has gone on since I last posted.  Josh has completed his BA in Political Science and graduated with a 3.88 GPA.  The issues from this past October were investigated and found to be untrue.  In the time all this was going on Josh decided he wanted to go to law school so they left him at a different command and he studied to take his LSAT.  He did better then he thought he'd do on the exam.  Once his scores were in he had over 80 schools contact him including Ave Maria School of Law which is a Catholic law school that Josh was looking at when he made his decision.  As it turns out Ave was the first school to send him information and the only one he applied to.  They accepted him with FULL scholarship for tuition.  The school relocated from MI to Naples FL a few years ago.  We've been hard at work trying to get Josh ready to leave for law school in a few weeks.
As for me I'm still working on getting myself through the courses I'm taking without killing myself and I'm having some issues.  Between having health issues and just plain lack of motivation I've had to retake a few courses and I feel like I'm doggie paddling in the same location and not getting any where.  Also Josh will be a civilian as of June 30th so money issues will soon follow the drastic decrease in income.  Not looking forward to that.

Hernia Surgery Post-op.

Surgery went down about 9 AM Thursday, I stayed in the hospital over night just as a precaution. Friday was rough on me. Saturday the big deal was major major gas issues. Today I seem to be doing much better. I was able to get in my car and take a trip over to the CVS and walk around for a bit. For the most part no more muscle spasms, of course when I tense up to cough or sneeze its painful, also hurts to laugh but other wise things aren't that bad at all. Now its just a matter of all the drugs working their way out of my system and my digestive tract getting back to normal. Another plus was coming out of surgery hungry and not nauseated. So Thursday evening I had regular foods for dinner, no liquid diet for me.

Josh has been going nuts cooking and keeping up the kitchen over the last few days. So we had lasagnia on Wed., Thurs don't know if he had left overs or ate out or what. Friday night he went out and got Chinese for us to eat, last night he made a meat pie with corn and mashed potatoes. Yum yum yum so far. I'm thankful I have a pretty hearty constitution. I'm also greatful that Eric has been kept busy and hasn't been jumping all over me. I've been working on school stuff here and there. Hoping to keep things up this term.

I wanna talk about ME!!!!!!

Just some things you should know, this blog is mainly a spot for me to vent. Get things off my chest and settle things in my mind.
